Embedded (G-Type) Finned Tubes are high-performance heat exchange components where fins are mechanically locked into grooves cut into the base tube. This “slotted” design creates a robust metal-to-metal bond that provides superior durability, vibration resistance, and thermal efficiency. Specifically engineered for extreme environments like boilers and air-cooled heat exchangers, G-type tubes withstand continuous thermal cycling and high temperatures that would cause standard fins to fail.

Manufacturing Process (The “Embedded” Design)

The name “G-Type” refers to the Groove machined into the base tube. The manufacturing involves three critical steps:

  1. Grooving: A helical groove (typically 0.25mm to 0.30mm deep) is “plowed” into the outer wall of the base tube.
  2. Insertion: The fin strip is wound under high tension into this pre-cut groove.
  3. Back-filling: The displaced tube metal is mechanically pressed back against the base of the fin. This “locks” the fin permanently into the tube wall, ensuring a metal-to-metal contact that is nearly immune to thermal expansion and contraction.
