Corrugated Finned Tubes
Corrugated finned tubes are cylindrical, thin-walled elastic elements with transverse corrugations, belonging to the category of pipe connection and compensation devices. They are mainly used in mining, petroleum, chemical, energy, and HVAC industries.
- Corrosion Resistance: 304 stainless steel is suitable for general corrosion environments, while 316 stainless steel is ideal for high chloride ion environments (such as seawater).
- Temperature Resistance: Can withstand temperatures up to 450℃, suitable for various thermal operating conditions.
- Pressure Resistance: Maximum pressure capacity is 20MPa, but in practical use, it is usually kept below 6.4MPa.
Corrugated Finned Tube Manufacturing Process
Corrugated finned tubes are manufactured using a welding process. The core structure consists of a corrugated tube body formed by continuously tangent large and small arcs. Materials include 304 and 316 stainless steel, with a pressure resistance of up to 20 MPa (actual operating pressure is controlled below 6.4 MPa).
Corrugated Finned Tube Working Principle
Corrugated finned tubes achieve elastic deformation through their corrugated structure, absorbing thermal expansion and contraction, vibration, impact, and displacement changes in pipelines. They also provide sealing, noise reduction, and thermal compensation functions. The corrugated design allows the fluid to form a turbulent flow, which, combined with the ultra-thin wall thickness (0.5-0.8 mm), significantly improves heat transfer efficiency. They also possess anti-fouling, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature resistance characteristics (up to 450°C).

Advantages of Corrugated Finned Tubes
Corrugated finned tubes, through their unique design of peaks and valleys, create strong turbulence in the fluids inside and outside the tube, preventing boundary layer thickening and enhancing heat transfer. Their heat transfer coefficient is 2-3 times that of traditional tube heat exchangers. Even at low flow rates, the fluid maintains a highly turbulent state, improving heat exchange efficiency.
Datang Corrugated Finned Tube Manufacturing Machine
Corrugated finned tube production equipment typically refers to specialized manufacturing equipment used to process corrugated tubes (a type of heat transfer enhancement element). Its core function is to form a wavy or segmented structure on the surface of the base tube through processes such as rolling and extrusion. This production equipment is a type of finned tube machine (or “finned tube rolling mill”) and can be used in conjunction with the production of low-finned tubes, spiral tubes, grooved tubes, and other similar products.
